Ryan Kairis has more than 28 years of experience in the construction industry. He has spent thousands of hours overseeing design management, pre-construction, feasibility analysis, construction, and commissioning and start-up across hundreds of job sites. Ryan heads up the project, team, and internal organizational strategies at HSC. He oversees senior leader development initiatives internally, mentoring and training HSC’s future leaders. Ryan focuses on client goals while seeking to provide forward-thinking solutions, developing and maintaining meaningful relationships, and focusing on his prime objective of delivering success on every project. Recently, Ryan has been leading internal and external diversity efforts through HSC’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
Mr. Kairis ensures that the department provides strategic insight during the preconstruction phase and executive oversight during construction by monitoring project cost, schedule, quality, and safety. Ryan’s build experience offers a distinct advantage through developing risk mitigation plans, constructability solutions, and project execution strategies. He deploys Lean construction techniques by guiding his project managers in how and when to implement those methods. He also oversees teams that specialize in VDC/BIM, MEP, and Field Operations.
Ryan joined HSC in 2008 as the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Group Manager, expanding HSC’s presence in this sector, along with efforts in the academic and healthcare segments. His project experience ranges from renovations to brownfield and greenfield sites to medical device manufacturing facilities; biological pilot plants; infrastructure upgrades; corporate fit-outs; and healthcare, academic, cultural, and historical facility renovations. Several of Ryan’s projects have received awards, such as the ISPE Facility of the Year, ENR Regional Best Project, and GBCA Construction Excellence Award.
Mr. Kairis earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Drexel University with a minor in Management.
He is a LEED® Green Associate and a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE), and PA Life Sciences.
