Princeton University Campus-wide Fire Alarm Upgrades

Princeton, New Jersey

A multi-year, campus-wide conversion to Simplex Grinnel fire alarm systems in Princeton University’s buildings. HSC managed upgrades in the Cuyler, Foulke, Henry, and McCormick Halls, to name a few. The traditional appearance of the rooms was maintained, each with their own fireplace, by using existing raceways rather than installing less appealing conduit. Work was conducted during three summer breaks. HSC developed a comprehensive temporary protection plan that resulted in a speedy turnover of the space after commissioning. The highly effective plan ensured all devices were installed and functioning per the specifications prior to final township inspections. HSC conducted daily surveys in order to verify location, labels, and functionality of over 2,000 devices.
