Bryn Mawr Hospital Electrical Infrastructure

Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

HSC Builders upgraded Bryn Mawr Hospital’s multi-phase, electrical infrastructure project by replacing the existing 4160V service with new 13.2 kV – 480/277 service. HSC participated in an extensive preconstruction planning session for over three months in order to plan each of the phases. Since the hospital was fully functional, the phasing plan was developed in a manner to minimize the power outages while allowing for expansion of the hospital’s existing facilities. Serviceability to all equipment was maintained thereby giving Bryn Mawr the flexibility and redundancy they requested. Project features included new generator, new electrical gear, new emergency and normal service double-ended switchgear in two wings, and 13 new ATS switches.
